“God’s Hard Work” by The Rev. Kaji Douša

In American culture, we very deeply value hard work. And we try to think that if you put in the right amount of time, that you’ll get the rewards that are necessary. But we know that so often that is not the case. We work so hard, and still we may not be able to afford the basic things that we need in our life. And as I was thinking about hard work, I was also thinking about how hard God works. So sometimes, if we put in so much effort, we think, “Yes, that hard work should lead to a reward,” but we might get disappointed. I wanted to pivot that to the hard work that God does for us, the ways that God invests so much in us and gives us so much. And that hard work that God does for us will never leave us disappointed. So, remember that today, and thanks be to God. Amen.
