SERMON VIDEO: “Rise Up, Stones!” by The Rev. Kaji Douša, Dec. 4, 2017

It’s nice to sleep. Rest is important. Without it, our minds do not get to reset, our bodies do not get to recharge.

The problem is when we stay asleep for too long.

It seems to me that waking people up was a key priority for John the Baptizer.

Why? Because a sleeping person is probably not praying. They’re certainly not paying attention to the things they might have the power to change. They’re definitely not staying connected to the very kinds of people who might inspire them to feel and to be hope in the broader community. Sleeping is good, but we can’t *only* sleep because if we do, we miss the joy that comes in the morning.
